Determination of Temperature Distributions in Air using a Scanning Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser

چکیده
Tuneable diode laser absorption spectroscopy of the A-band of oxygen has been successfully used to infer simple temperature distributions in a tubular furnace at two temperature settings, measuring the peak temperature and the width of the distribution along a single line of sight. This is achieved using a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser with a large enough wavelength scanning range to scan across eight absorption lines. Issues concerning which parameters must be kept fixed to achieve a unique converged solution are discussed.
